The Mobile Crisis Intervention Specialist will provide assessments and appropriate crisis intervention services in community settings to individuals exhibiting symptoms of a mental health crisis. 

Here's what you'll do:

  • Will work to develop a strong partnership with crisis intervention trained law enforcement officers to provide crisis services in Montgomery county
  • Will provide effective crisis intervention response in the community by increasing connections to mental health services and reducing referrals to local jails and emergency rooms
  • Will interface with individuals in Montgomery county assisting with short-term needs and linkage to appropriate mental health services and other non-clinical resources
  • Will provide the following services: crisis assessment, crisis intervention, crisis follow up, crisis relapse prevention, and other tasks as indicated as part of the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT)
  • Will work non-traditional business hours, weekends, and some holidays
  • Work an alternative rotating schedule (contact for more information)

To be considered, you will need:

  • Master's degree, meeting requirements of a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP)
  • Mental health experience required with preferred experience in crisis services
  • Valid driver's license and insurable through TCBHC

Offenses that are not an absolute bar to employment but may be considered a contraindication will also be considered during the pre-employment process. Tri-County will also complete a driver's license check. All applicants, employees, contractors and volunteers will be checked prior to hire and monthly through the Texas Health and Human Services Commission Office of the Inspector General (OIG) List of Excluded Individuals. All applicants are required to successfully complete a drug screening and a physical agility test prior to new hire orientation.

Applicants who are selected for a position in the Criminal Justice/Jail Diversion Department, TCOOMMI, and those who provide services to TCOOMMI, i.e., psychiatrists, nurses, etc., must have a Federal background check by fingerprinting through the FBI upon initial hire and annually thereafter.

Applicants who have lived out of state for two or more years from the date of submission of this application must have a Federal background check by fingerprinting through the FBI if they are selected for a position.
