Crisis Counseling Fiscal and Support Specialist

The Crisis Counseling Fiscal and Support Specialist staff will be tasked with providing highly responsible and competent administrative support and technical assistance to support the Crisis Counseling team. The role will also be responsible for the fiscal monitoring and reporting program. This position requires the ability to organize time and work productively, work independently, and the ability to communicate effectively with the team. This position's duties will include the following:

  • Assists the Crisis Counseling team in coordination of schedules and management of time.
  • Review, track, and report on program expenditures and provide fiscal oversight and guidance.
  • Provides administrative support, including but not limited to collecting and verifying timesheets, collecting data forms, ordering supplies, answering phone calls, and disseminating program information.
  • Assists with scheduling events and related training activities for the team.
  • Prepares spreadsheets and reports related to data collection activities.
  • Works closely with program manager and accounting staff to ensure accuracy of completed forms.
  • Supports program manager and team leaders.

This position is temporary and will be dependent on ongoing FEMA grant funding.

Here's what you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
    • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Two years general office experience required
    • Work experience with State or Federal grants preferred
  • Proficient in the use of Excel
  • Pre-employment testing requirements:
    • Typing 40wpm
    • Competency in basic Word and Excel
  • Applicants must have a valid driver's license and be insurable through Tri-County.

Offenses that are not an absolute bar to employment but may be considered a contraindication will also be considered during the pre-employment process. Tri-County will also complete a driver's license check. All applicants, employees, contractors and volunteers will be checked prior to hire and monthly through the Texas Health and Human Services Commission Office of the Inspector General (OIG) List of Excluded Individuals. All applicants are required to successfully complete a drug screening and a physical agility test prior to new hire orientation.

Applicants who are selected for a position in the Criminal Justice/Jail Diversion Department, TCOOMMI, and those who provide services to TCOOMMI, i.e., psychiatrists, nurses, etc., must have a Federal background check by fingerprinting through the FBI upon initial hire and annually thereafter.

Applicants who have lived out of state for two or more years from the date of submission of this application must have a Federal background check by fingerprinting through the FBI if they are selected for a position.
