Community Engagement Strategist

Tri-County Behavioral Healthcare (TCBHC) is seeking a Community Engagement Strategist to lead outreach efforts and strengthen connections across Montgomery, Walker, and Liberty counties.

In this position, you will raise awareness of our mission by coordinating community events, developing partnerships with local organizations, and leading TCBHC's social media outreach. You will play a key role in increasing visibility, promoting collaboration, and helping ensure stronger support for the individuals and families we serve.

We are looking for a motivated self-starter with experience in public relations, marketing, or community outreach. The ideal candidate has strong social media skills, excellent communication abilities, and the resourcefulness to complete projects efficiently and creatively.

Here's what you'll do:

  • Develop and lead creative community outreach programs that promote awareness and engagement.
  • Plan and coordinate community events, workshops, and meetings.
  • Support Tri-County Consumer Foundation Board including fundraising activities and event planning.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community members, local organizations, and stakeholders.
  • Manage and grow TCBHC social media presence, including developing strategic campaigns that highlight Center services, success stories, educational content, and employees.
  • Develop social media content ideas and a work plan to maximize engagement opportunities across platforms.
  • Lead the employee VIP team to organize internal employee engagement and morale-boosting initiatives.
  • Create and distribute promotional materials, newsletters, and press releases.
  • Represent TCBHC at community events, meetings, and forums.
  • Gather and analyze community feedback to inform and improve programs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align community engagement efforts with organizational goals.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for partnerships and collaborations that expand our reach and strengthen our mission.
  • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of community engagement initiatives.
  • Provide support and resources to community members to foster active participation and involvement.
  • Stay informed about community needs, trends, and best practices in community engagement.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 8 am - 5 pm
Flexible hours as needed for job-related activities.

To be considered, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • At least 2 years of community engagement required, 4 or more years preferred.
    • Experience in community engagement in the Tri-County service area preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and insurable through TCBHC.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Creative, resourceful, organized, and skilled at managing multiple projects.
  • Strong social media skills and experience managing professional platforms.

Offenses that are not an absolute bar to employment but may be considered a contraindication will also be considered during the pre-employment process. Tri-County will also complete a driver's license check. All applicants, employees, contractors and volunteers will be checked prior to hire and monthly through the Texas Health and Human Services Commission Office of the Inspector General (OIG) List of Excluded Individuals. All applicants are required to successfully complete a drug screening and a physical agility test prior to new hire orientation.

Applicants who are selected for a position in the Criminal Justice/Jail Diversion Department, TCOOMMI, and those who provide services to TCOOMMI, i.e., psychiatrists, nurses, etc., must have a Federal background check by fingerprinting through the FBI upon initial hire and annually thereafter.

Applicants who have lived out of state for two or more years from the date of submission of this application must have a Federal background check by fingerprinting through the FBI if they are selected for a position.
