Advanced Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric Services

Join our dynamic team as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner specializing in psychiatric services. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality care in both outpatient and Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) settings, operating within the parameters of the NCCPA or Licensed Nurse Practitioner scope of practice. Your role will encompass a range of duties aimed at providing comprehensive psychiatric care to our diverse patient population.

This position's duties will include the following:

  • Prescribe psychiatric medications under the guidance of a licensed psychiatrist.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of medical and psychological histories.
  • Perform psychiatric diagnoses to determine priority population status and contribute to treatment planning.
  • Deliver crisis intervention services to both new and existing consumers.
  • In region travel is required.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of the Physician Assistant credentialing exam by the National Board of Medical Examiners, or licensed as a Registered Nurse in Texas with Advanced Practice Nurse licensure.
  • Graduation from an accredited education program with a Master's degree in nursing and current Nurse Practitioner licensure.
  • Eligibility for prescriptive authority and certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Specialist.
  • Ability to pass Computer competency, Outlook and Typing test (30wpm).
  • Competent computer skills and ability to navigate in an electronic health record and other technology-based platforms. 
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and be insurable through Tri-County Behavioral Healthcare.
  • Preferred minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Optional: If Bilingual in English and Spanish, will be paid a bilingual stipend.

Offenses that are not an absolute bar to employment but may be considered a contraindication will also be considered during the pre-employment process. Tri-County will also complete a driver's license check. Applicants who have lived out of state for two or more years from the date of submission of this application must have a Federal background check by fingerprinting through the FBI if they are selected for a position.
